Cover me
Watching Video Hits this morning.
They are having a 'Covers' special. Let me point out what I have witnessed is far from 'special'.
The vast majority could quite easily be classified as absolute garbage thinly disguised as music. Talentless hacks butchering everything from classics to songs that should never have existed in the first place.
I was just witness to Marilyn Manson doing a cover of Tainted Love. I don't think I need to say much more.
The winner however so far this morning for torturing my ears has been the what I thought was the now defunct British pop group 'All Saints'. They did an appaling cover of a U2 track which name escapes me. This lead to nothing more than my ears wanting to bleed. I'll be sure to check later.
Cher / Walking in Memphis - Her voice is almost deeper than the bloke that did it originally.. I'm sure that is not a good thing.
Britney Spears / I Love Rocking Roll - No comment required here really.
Alien Ant Farm / Smooth Criminal - Almost exactly the same as the original. Except they have a really average video clip. For which it seems is the only reason they performed the cover.
Shannon Noll / What About Me - The only thing this reminds me of is the little kid and his old man that did the hilarious send up of this video clip. Little Kid dressed up to look like shannon noll complete with pen facial hair.
Danii Minogue / This is it - 80's Flash back or what! The choreography and the bright clothing is really something else.
Kelly Osbourne / Papa Don't Preach - Her dad may be one of the Gods of rock, but young Kelly is nothing worth listening to. The desperate attempts in the production to make her sound even remotely like she can sing are glaringly obvious. You can't polish shit. And you shouldn't bother. Perfect example of what you can do with a bank balance that would make most of us feel rather ill.
Madonna / Fever - A poor dance remix. It appears she was looking for an excuse to paint herself silver. About as entertaining as picking crud out from between my toes.
Eminem / Toy Soldiers - It is official. My ears are now actually bleeding.

Dave did you just accuse the peppers' greatest track of being a U2 song? I CAST THEE OUT!
Also, did you notice this guy as the lead backup dancer in that Danni clip?

How dare you make me read this crap
And yes. I did actually notice him in the background! Wasn't 100% but you've cleared that up!
